Five days refreshing course for international and national referees who are active in the Refereeing in both National and International Tournaments began in Male yesterday.

This course will be held from 12^th  till 16^th of this month.

Mr. Husen Mohamed, General Secretary of VAM, gave welcome speech to the participants, in the Opening ceremony held at YSDC Seminar Room this afternoon.

Chairman of the Cricket Board of Maldives was the distinguished guest for the ceremony.

A total of 25 active Referees will complete this programme aimed to upgrade the standard and up-to-date the Refereeing knowledge according the FIVB rules and regulations.

Course Instructor of this Programme is an FIVB Refereeing Instructor Mr. Thomas Chang from Hong Kong. During the next five days he will give the proper and precise training to all of the first, second referees, line judges and also to the responsible persons who are active in other duties during a match.

Mr. Ilyas Ahmed Vice president of VAM, said “We are delighted to conduct such a Programme for our Referees, who support the VAM in many ways in the development of our sport. This programme will allow the Referees to learn new methods and latest Refereeing skills”.
